In windy conditions, the cap & contents are blown out, with rain it makes newspapers unreadable. A good idea, but needs improvement.

We already had a Brabantia post box in this style installed to save the post man being terrorised by our dog, so we also wanted to prevent unexpected encounters with the paperboy. Having researched various products it was obvious that this was the right one, not least because it is designed to go with our post box even though it could be installed independently. Fitting was really easy, less than 5 minutes as I could reuse the same holes in the wall as the post box. It does the job well, large enough to comfortably hold the Sunday papers and all the supplements and generally fairly robust. Weather protection is good and there is a single end cap but in exposed locations the end of your paper may still get wet if the wind is in the wrong direction. It would be good to have an optional 2nd end cap, perhaps on a light chain or cord attached to the tube so the paper can be sealed into the tube to protect the otherwise exposed end.

I bought this to avoid brochures and free newspapers etc. being forced into my Brabantia post box, clogging it up or damaging the box. It works, was easy to install and looks great with my Brabantia post box. As always high quality and attractive product from Brabantia!
