AiS Insurance Approved Safes

Insurance approved safes are independently tested by AiS (Association of Insurance Surveyors) against strict safety standards. Safes that have been approved by AiS are automatically approved by UK insurance brokers and are identified with the AiS logo. Purchasing an insurance approved safe gives you the peace of mind that your safe has passed independent attack tests and can withstand different levels of breach attempts.

The insurance rating given to a safe indicates the level of security your safe has. This dictates the maximum amount of valuables and cash the insurers will cover you for. The insurance rating is determined by safety factors such as resistance to movement, wall and door thickness and lock complexity. The insurance rating will only be valid if the safe is correctly installed in compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

The cash value you can store in an insurance approved safe is dictated by its insurance rating. We categorise our insurance approved safes into Standard, Medium, High and Maximum, with Standard starting at £1,000 and Maximum reaching £250,000. It’s worth keeping in mind that the insurance rating given to a safe is multiplied by ten when storing valuables instead of cash - an insurance rating of £2,000 would mean you can store a maximum of £2,000 in cash or £20,000 of valuables.
