CCTV Hard Drive Capacity

Use our capacity calculator to determine how many days storage you can expect from your CCTV system. If using motion detection we generally advise setting the most commonly used camera to 4 hours.

  • Select picture quality – the higher the resolution the more storage required.
  • Decide how many cameras you need up to a maximum of 8.
  • Choose how many hours each camera will record.
  • Leave cameras set to 0 hours if not used.

Choose Picture Quality

Cameras Quantity Recording Hours Per Day 1TB HDD Capacity 2TB HDD Capacity
{{ camera.cameraName }} hours 0 {{ Math.round(parseFloat( ( (res.hours1TB / totalHours) * (camera.cameraHours / totalHours) ) * 10 ) / 10) }} days 0 {{ Math.round(parseFloat( ( (res.hours2TB / totalHours) * (camera.cameraHours / totalHours) ) * 10 ) / 10) }} days
Total Days of Storage * 0 {{ Math.floor( res.hours1TB / totalHours ) }} days 0 {{ Math.floor( res.hours2TB / totalHours ) }} days
* Based on the standard manufacturer motion detection settings. Changing these settings will affect the days of storage.
