Product Details

Yale The Yale Certified Safe Laptop is designed to protect laptop computers and other valuables from theft and has a recommended insurance rating of £2,000 cash or £20,000 valuables with a Silver award in the Sold Secure Accreditation** scheme. This home safe is secured by an electronic combination lock including a blue LCD which is powered by 4 x AA batteries (included). For additional peace of mind it is possible to override the electronic lock by a 6 lever high security double bitted key lock (supplied with two keys). The key hole is cleverly concealed behind the Yale Badge.

When the safe door is opened extra bright internal LED lighting reveals a fully felt lined interior. This safe is also ready prepared for floor or wall fixing via pre-drilled holes in both the back and base of the safe. Fixing bolts are included. This model is also available in 3 other sizes or you can view our full range of laptop safes here.

This is an excellent safe!

Finding a safe designed for a laptop is a problem in its self I was concerned that my laptop which is a 17.3" Vaio would not fit (door opening, not the internal space) however, placing it in at an angle worked perfectly.

It is very easy to use and the fixing bolts supplied and used to fix the safe to a concrete floor are substantial but could perhaps be a little longer.

Nice strong safe. Hard to install safety upstarts because most walls are breeze block and weak. So I put my one in the empty airing cupboard (small walled place, so hard to get at) and connect by the back and the bottom.

Extra Items required (Ebay) - two 5*50mm flat iron bars, 8*6mm bolts with security bolts to join the, angle brackets 4* 80mm/80mm 4mm, 4*8mm (about 25mm long) bolts with plastic inserts tops, to connect inside the safe to the iron bar(and you can remove if the safe breaks) ...

Nice and secure, easy to hide if you've got the space. A nice piece of kit. Didn't like the bolts, but hey for a couple of quid you can pick some decent ones from Wicks.

This product could do with a shelf so that you can put laptops on one level and all the other important stuff on another level.

This is a very solidly-built and stylish product which is big enough to hold my 17' laptop whilst still having room for many other small valuables. It's the perfect size for fitting inside a wardrobe or cupboard and is light in weight and simple to install. The keypad is easy to set up and security seems to be very good. It's just perfect for my needs!

Very easy to use. Internal light is a nice feature. It switches off on a timer if the door remains open to save battery life. The door opens on a spring which is good if you want this feature; not if you don't. I would buy this again because it feels really solid, is stylish and good value for money IMO.

The fixing bolts are enormous and only just fit through the wholes at the back / bottom (maybe they're supposed to be really tight?). This can slow down the install though.

Can you tell me the distance from the bottom of the safe to the top of the door. I hope to fit it in a cupboard and I am not sure if I will be able to open the door.

The measurement from the bottom of the safe to the top of the door is 170mm. The measurement from the bottom of the door to the top of the door is 145mm.

Is a laptop 417mm width x 270mm depth x 35mm height going to fit in this safe. There seems to be conflicting info about the door opening size.

Excluding the bolt mechanism the internal clearance measurements would be 145mm x 424mm x 280mm (HxWxD). Your laptop would fit perfectly.

What is the width of the door opening I am guessing that may be less than the internal safe dimensions? What is the diagonal opening too? Trying to work out if my laptop will fit inside.

The door opening or aperture measurements for this this safe are Height 136mm x Width 392mm. The diagonal measurement is 415mm.

If the safe was fixed to the wall, would I be able to use the holes in the bottom to run a charging lead and charge my laptop whilst its in the safe

The diagram showing internal dimensions doesn't seem to include the full thickness of the safe walls.

My laptop is 413mm wide and 278mm deep. Would it fit inside?

The door opening dimensions of this safe are 136 x 392mm (HxW). It will be tight for a laptop with a width of 413mm because the diagonal opening measures 415mm.

The door opening is actually slightly wider on the Yale Safe Laptop, which is 408mm. The diagonal opening is 430mm.

Could you tell me what size the opening is on the Yale Certified Laptop safe? i.e. top to bottom / side to side. I'm guessing that this is smaller than the internal dimensions of the safe. Hope this makes sense.
