Fantastic product and looks good. Saves the hassle of carrying keys and very easy to share a key or give a card/fob to a friend or cleaner etc.

Fitting wasn’t easy but I am not very handy when it comes to stuff like that. The instructions coupled with the YouTube video were very good to explain each step.

I did have one issue with the app where I accidentally made a mistake and the Yale helpline were fantastic at supporting.

I would recommend this product and quite often do to friends. Being able to leave the house with a wallet and a phone and no keys is great when going for a night out.

I fit it myself and can say that instruction was not very useful, in some cases misleading. When you open with fob or card, it takes reasonable amount of time, if you do it through the iphone application it is not so quick and straightforward. I like this Smart Lock much better than usual one but it is not perfect product at the moment and require improvements. And of course it is too expansive to become a mass product... Also I would personally prefer to have a code access rather than use iphone as a key...

The internet search found that the price was the best on Safe.co.uk with Next Day Delivery. A few tags and a remote unit were purchased in addition and the next stage was fitting. All went to plan and the lock was fitted and commissioned in quick time. I now have a door that is simple to unlock by those with tags and secure from others. It looks refined and in keeping with the door and surrounding. Being able to open it easily from the inside with the easy grip thumb screw button is an absolute bonus for an arthritic hand!

» Ask Question

What happens if the batteries run out, how do I access the property?
Anthony Murray, Liverpool
There is a 9v battery connection port on the external side of the lock which can be used to power the Smart Door Lock to gain entry, however the unit would alert you when the batteries are running low.

Can I revoke and reuse the 5 virtual keys unlimited times, or would revoking it cause it to be "used up" meaning I would have to pay for another virtual key?
Tom, London
You can only use the 5 free keys once. Further keys will need to be purchased from Yale.

Janaina Hickman , Kidderminster
The Yale Conexis L1 smart lock is only suitable for uPVC and composite doors. You may want to take a look at the Yale Y3 Keyless Connected Night Latch Kit which could be more suitable.

Can this be opened / closed whilst miles away..?does it have to be in Bluetooth range to open / lock door ? If a family member hasn?t got key for example and needs to get in the property.
Liam, Ripley
This lock cannot be remotely unlocked from another location you would need to be within blue tooth range. You can however send people a virtual key to their smart phone so they can gain access or they could use a smart key tag or card.

Is the lock IP rated on both sides at IP55 please or just the outer lock?
Jonathan Dixon, Luton
Only the outer section of the lock is IP55 rated.

When the outside is locked whats to stop someone reaching (tools etc) through and pulling the inside handle down and walking in?
Matt Manly, Kent
The door/lock cannot be opened by pulling the handle down alone, the internal cylinder thumbturn needs to be pushed in and rotated to allow the lock to be released and the door opened.
