Please can you advise me what type of battery is required for the key pad and the sensors and how long do the battery's last.
lalji, Basildon
The Yale Easy Fit PIR would be 3x AAA Alkaline batteries and for the Easy Fit Keypad it would be 1x 3V CR3032 lithium coin cell. The batteries are included and should last approx. 18 months to 2 years based on the devices being used 1-2 times per day.
Can you confirm the operating temperatures this PIR can operate in. Looking to fit one in my double garage but don’t know if it will get to cold in the winter.
We have 3 cats, would they trigger the alarm even though together they would be less than the 20-25 kg?
Justin, Crawley
The Yale Easy Fit Pet PIR Motion Detector is designed with smaller pets in mind. The device would only trigger the alarm with medium/large animals. You can set the sensitivity level of each PIR to make sure it is not triggered by your pets.
Would the alarm be triggered if our cat jumped up on the window sill or back of the settee. She likes sitting in both places.
Jean Webster, Nottingham
The Yale Easy Fit Pet PIR Motion Detector has been designed with small pets in mind. You can set the sensitivity level so that it is not activated by your pets. Larger pets can increase the possibility of false triggering so in some cases it is advisable to use door/window contacts.
Would these be suitable for a conservatory given the way they detect, or would you still advise not to use PIR at all it this location?
Darryl, Kettering
Providing the sensor is positioned correctly, facing away and avoiding glare from windows, there should be no reason why a PIR could not be used in a conservatory.
Does the Easy Fit KIT2 come with a pet friendly PIR?
Stuart izon , Stockport
This system does not come with Pet Friendly PIR's as standard but they can be added to the system separately. You may prefer to look at the ERA Invincible - Wireless SmartPhone Alarm which includes pet PIR's as standard.
