Deposit safes are ideal for commercial businesses where there is a need to frequently store physical money on the premises, such as retail shop settings. Unlike a traditional safe that requires the door to be opened to add or remove its contents, deposit safes remain completely secured when physical money (or similar) is entered, with the money entered via a letter box style slot or tube, drawer or revolving drum, depending on the specific safe specifications. The contents can them be removed at the owner’s convenience.

The main difference between deposit safes, other than size and insurance rating are where they should be located and how money or items are stored into them. As with most safes, there are wall and floor mountable options, as well as safes designed to sit under floor, with access via the top. The wall mounted safes typically have a letter box style slot, a drawer function located in the front or a rotary drum on the top, with underfloor safes typically used with capsule and tube style design. As with other safes, deposit safes can be accessed when needed by either a key, data pad or fingerprint mechanisms.
