- The ERA Wireless Alarm series are a range of smart home security alarms designed to give you ultimate control of your home security. The intuitive wireless system has been designed with DIY in mind ensuring no wiring or running cables in walls or under the carpet and you won't need the services of a qualified electrician.
The alarm components are easy to install on a DIY basis and have a wide 80 metre wireless range (in open field conditions) using a 433MHz frequency, ensuring you can place them practically anywhere.
The ERA Vault - GSM/SMS Communicating Kit PLUS is a wireless alarm with integrated mobile phone technology and is operated by a touch screen control panel, which incorporates a SIM Card holder and allows communication directly with the control panel. In addition, the alarm system can be operated via a Smartphone App, one of the included remote controls and can be disarmed by one of the RFID Contactless Tags. When the alarm is triggered, a loud siren will sound from the control panel to alert others of an intruder and the system will also alert you via text message or app notification. This alarm system also includes a solar powered external siren box with produces 110dB when the alarm is triggered.Vault

1 x Pet PIR Motion Detector
The pet friendly sensor activates when larger movement is detected making it ideal for homes with one small pet (less than 20 - 25kg). The detector should be placed in the corner of rooms that are vulnerable to intruders. When the alarm is armed an infrared sensor will detect any larger movement and activate the loud alarm siren.
1 x Door Sensor Contact
When the alarm is armed, if a door or window that is protected by the contact is opened the contact is broken activating the loud external siren.
2 x Remote Keyfobs
The keyfob is used to arm or disarm the alarm system without the need for a PIN code and can be used from any room in your home. The keyfob also includes a panic button should you need to sound the alarm in an emergency.
2 x RFID Contactless Tags
The wireless radio-frequency identification (RFID) Tags will disarm the alarm, without needing a code, by swiping across the control panel. These lightweight tags are also designed to be fitted to your key ring.
1 x Touch Screen Control Panel
The keypad is used to arm or disarm the alarm system via entry of your own unique PIN code. The keypad also integrates a SIM card holder allowing you to listen in and two-way talk via your phone.
1 x Outdoor Siren Box
The solar powered siren box includes a rechargeable battery and does not require a mains power supply. Fitted in a highly visible location on the exterior of the property the loud 110dB siren will sound and the LED will flash when the alarm is triggered.

Alarm control by SmartPhone
You can access all of the alarm settings and features via the ERA Vault Alarm App (available for iOS and Android). The system can be activated and deactivated using your SmartPhone.*
Safeland Connect Homes
This ERA alarm is compatible with Safeland (previously Trygve) - an online community that allows people to connect to other people in their local neighbourhood via a SmartPhone app or PC. When connected, the alarm can alert other users when it is triggered and the neighbourhood can then pull together using Safeland messaging to deal with the situation as a team.

GSM telephone connectivity
The alarm system includes a built-in SIM card holder and can store up to five individual telephone numbers and will send text message alerts when the alarm is triggered.
Part arming by zone
The alarm can be set to create two different zones allowing you to arm one or both zones. This can be especially useful if you decide to split the upstairs and downstairs of a property into two zones. While away from the property you would activate both zones and during the night you could activate only the downstairs zone.
Solar powered
The alarm siren box includes a rechargeable battery which is charged by a solar panel. There alarm siren box is completely wireless meaning there are no wires or cables and you will not need to climb a ladder to change the battery. The standby time for the alarm is 45 days to ensure the alarm stays powered even when there is no sunlight at all.

Recommended
Easy to use and install, had some initial questions and received promptly support from the help line. I like the solar panel on the external siren but feel the flashing lights in the siren are not visible at night which is disappointing as this feature is advertised. Overall happy with the alarm, my son has already bought one and I am happy to recommend ERA and safe.co.uk

This system has worked flawlessly since installing. We have had no false alarms, and when it had been set off by my in laws calling to the house, my partner and I both recieved txts and a call promptly, all while we were away in Germany. I was initially worried about the wireless signal being strong enough to cover our whole home as we live in a bungalow with thick concrete walls but there were no problems at all. I'm considering adding our separate garage building to the system too. All in all, it was half the price quoted to have a system professionally installed, far superior to that system, easy to install and add extra sensors too, and the wireless call function adds real piece of mind when away from home.

It says that the system is battery powered with rechargeable batteries. Do you get some form of notification of when the batteries are running low and need charging again, and how long do the batteries typically last for before needing a charge?Alex, Cheltenham
The rechargeable battery is located inside the Hub and needs mains power, the rechargeable battery will only come into effect when there is a power cut and would give you around 6 hours of emergency power.Tom WWas this helpful?4

The system says it requires a sim to be placed inside. Do you have to have have a sim card fitted for the system to work
as I am out of the country a lot and tend to use an I pad to communicate.
