Pros: Easy to use and install. Good for fireproof storage Cons: Paint rubbed away where door lightly touches the inner parts. All of the shelf supports were broken.

Pros: Heavy, robust looking and feels robust, Metal construction with 2 keys. The hinges are concealed. It has a fair amount of space inside it. size is reasonable to conceal in confined spaces. Cons: Shelf mountings were broken when received and seemed flimsy. I also had to buy butter bolts for fitting into concrete.

Mr C D Hill,
3 March 2012

Pros: The security it provides. Cons: An unanswerable question - the safe is only as secure as access to the key! Where does one hide a safe key in a bed-sit flat? As the safe is not accessed regularly, the key is a little too large for keeping on everyday keyrings.

Pros: A good home safe for important documents, credit cards and so on. Easy to install and use. I'd use it in addition to a burglar alarm and home contents insurance since nothing will prevent a determined thief. Cons: The safe door moves a little when its locked. Other than that not much else to say.

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

£55.00 Surcharge Areas

  • PH 1 - 26 (No coverage in other PH postcodes)
  • PA 1 - 19 (No coverage in other PA postcodes)
  • KA 19, 26
  • ML 11, 12

£105.00 Surcharge Areas

  • IV 01-17, 30,31,32 (No coverage in other IV postcodes)
  • AB
  • DD
  • TD
  • DG
  • KW

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

  • Accidental Damage
  • Malicious Damage
  • Materials or Manufacturer Failure
  • System Modification
  • Incorrect User Diagnosis
  • Broadband Related
  • App Related
  • User Error
Q&A [4]

Questions & Answers (4)

It’s stated that this model is pre drilled for wall and floor fixing, but in your Q&A your saying it’s only for floor fixing. Please can you clarify.
Tony, Fleetwood
The safe does come with pre drilled fixing holes for floor and wall installation. However we only offer an installation service to a concrete floor on this product.

Can these safes be drilled in the sides by ourselves, or can we order for extra side fixings to be applied?
Tony, Fleetwood
We strongly advise against drilling additional holes into the safe as this could compromise the security and insurance rating of the safe and would also be very difficult to achieve. Unfortunately we are unable to offer bespoke safes at this time.

Can this safe be wall fixed? If not can you recommend safe with same level of security that can.
Alan, Bristol
Unfortunately the phoenix fortress 1183E is only suitable for floor fixing. However I can recommend the Burton Eurovault Aver S2 4E as this is suitable for both base/wall fixing.

Re Phoenix Fortress. It says they have bolts for floor fitting. I'd like to know, if I fix these to the floor, can I remove the bolts again e.g. were I to move house and want to take the safe with me?
Miles
Yes, providing the safe is open and you can access the bolts it is just a case of unscrewing the bolts.
