The Phoenix SS0721k Safe is designed for use in the office or at home and is ideal for storing low value items such as passports, birth certificates and jewellery. This safe comes with a recommended insurance rating of £1,000 cash or £10,000 valuables. The door is secured by a high security double bitted key locking, supplied with 2 keys and the safe comes with pre-drilled holes in the back and the base making it suitable for floor or wall fixing using the fixing kit that is included.

the product fulfills the purpose for which it was purchased. It holds securely a small amount of valuables. The materials with which it is made provide protection and will deter all but profession thieves. The keys though are large and not easily hidden and could be found by pilferers and so defeat the purpose of having the safe, if discovered, in the first place. Smaller keys would be advantageous; more easily hidden. I fixed the safe in a closet using, what I think are called dead bolts. However bolting the safe to a wall using the two holes provided at the back of the safe still leaves it vulnerable to a determined thieve with a crowbar. The safe could be prised from the wall with little effort. I know the safe is not intended to provide complete security and given the low cost of the product one could not expect more. I do feel however that more attaching apparatus could be added for little expense. More holes, one at each corner but accessible to spanner or screwdriver. Fitting instructions too would be a valuable addition. For older people, with modest amounts of cash and valuables, a secure fixed safe affords great peace of mind and I feel that your product with minor improvements can provide that.

Really strong construction and I love how it can be wall or floor secured. Love how you can have key operation instead of digital code. Got it for my dad who is hopeless at remembering numbers so the key is great, plus a spare which is great, and can be kept with a spare house and car key. Really roomy too so more than enough room to keep passport and other important documents secure. The safe is small enough to tuck away in a kitchen cupboard with ease, as it is no bigger than the box for walking boots. I am really pleased with this, and more importantly, so is Dad.

The product is ideal for the purpose we bought it for. Sturdy enough to deter opportune unprepared thieves. I am convinced if someone came prepared to invade your property and managed to find the safe it would take some effort to break it free from its fixing if fixed properly. Easy to adapt to add additional fixing points. No noisey beeping electronic key pad, that also have a secondary key lock anyway. Simple, smart, and easy to hide. It's ideal for keeping small amounts of important documents, cash or other valuables. As for not bring fireproof, I can't see why it can't be protected with a fire proof material. It really depends on what you going to put in it. We are certainly pleased with it.

Hi readers, I needed a small safe to store some obscure valuables.. the main thing for me was physical keys rather than fingerprints

The internal volume is small but perfect for what I need, I have the equivelent of a two standard hard spectacle cases securley tucked away.

There are decent size holes in the back/floor of the safe which allowed me to bolt it in place. I used penny washers on the inside as the holes would probably tear otherwise... by the time anybody got that far they would have earned the safe anyway

So in summary excellent value for money ... Delivery was fast and easy :-)

A great little secure safe, perfect for our Motorhome and I’m recommend it to other members in our group.

Having too keys for operation is makes life easier, as we don’t have to remember another code.

It was easy to install and with all the fixings supplied it takes all the worry out of picking up extra bits.

Very pleased with the safe. Delivery was very prompt and I thought price was reasonable. This is quite a basic model but the safe is solidly built and feels secure, easy to fix in place with the fittings provided to ensure greater security. I have found there is plenty of space for what I wanted to store.

Great price, nice quality, good lock mechanism, feels secure. Plenty of mounting options. I have bolted it to the top of a larger safe and anchored it to the wall for a belt and braces approach but the material is plenty thick enough to do one or the other. Would happily buy another.

It is very good value for money, and arrived very quickly. I bought the item for my elderly parents for Christmas, I didn't go for an electronic unit and the key option was most preferable for my parents and their needs. It is well made, not too heavy, and is compact size which is ideal for my parents "hiding place".

    How do you reset the code on the safe?

    To reset the code on this unit the safe will need to be opened using the existing code or back up key. Press the programme button located on the back of the door and then enter you desired combination on the keypad (3-8 digits) followed by the B button to confirm. For further assistance please see the User Guide available on the website.

    I live with a thief. Is this safe penetrable via the hinges? Can it be picked open with generic internet instructions? 3 cash boxes have failed me on these points. Thanks, John

    This safe has an entry level insurance rating of £1,000, meaning that it will deter the opportunist thief. The hinges of the safe are concealed on the inside and there are no codes available that will override your own personal code that you have set. There are a back up keys supplied that will override the lock, so you will have to keep those safe - outside of the safe. This safe will definitely provide more of a deterrent than a cash box.

    I see the door is 124mm x 145 mm but for me the critical dimension is what is the door space size when the door is open at 90 degrees from the front. This provides a better idea of what can be fitted in without potential damage and level.

    Standard Safe <25kg Installation

    We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

    Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

    Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

    If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

    The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

    The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure.

    Non-standard Installation

    In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

    If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

    • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
    • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
    • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
    • Road closure including necessary permits.
    • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

    We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

    The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

    Warranty Terms & Conditions

    Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

    Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

    We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

    In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

    Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

    The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

    • Malicious Damage
    • Materials or Manufacturer Failure
    • System Modification
    • Incorrect User Diagnosis
