Sentinel SS-4 Fold-Down Post

Easy to use. Arrives fully assembled.

Difficult to install on a tarmac driveway. Requires a concrete base to drill and bolt into.

The post has done the job well and fulfilled my expectations. The padlock configuration was slightly different from the illustration shown on the website, but that shouldn't present a problem, although it may slightly more accessible to someone wanting to attack it with bolt croppers or an angle grinder. It was a straightforward job to install, but care is obviously needed to ensure that the fixing bolts are centred and securely fixed in position. Looking at the alternatives on the market, I believe that this fold-down post represents good value for money and I would recommend it to anybody wanting build quality at an affordable price.

I was not amused when a careless tradesman opted to drive through my SS-4 fold down post rather than drive around it. Fortunately his employer saw what happened and agreed to replace and fit a new one. I had no hesitation to replace the post with another SS-4. I have used these for many years and I know how robust and easy to fit they are. I always keep a spare one for such eventualities. A pair of these posts are positioned at the entrance of my driveway ro avoid huge lorries attempting to turn round and damaging my property.. Since these were erected I have had no problems with lorry drivers...only the careless tradesman.
