Avocet ABS 3 Star - Euro Thumbturn Cylinder 50 - 50 (100mm Polished Chrome)

I needed a good quality 3 star thumbturn for a job. I wanted Avocet as I've always found they operate easily and smoothly, unlike some that can be fussy to accept the key. Also ordered extra keys as there were to be 20 different users and expected all 20 keys to operate perfectly which they did. Quality product. Easy to order and easy to fit

Bought as part of a keyed alike set. All are good quality and work smoothly. Provided you measure exact size needed they are easy fit and are flush with handle. Thumb turn works well

I looked at several different options of Euro lock but decided this ABS Avocet lock suited my needs the best. It is very well built, easy to use and was straightforward to fit. It provides good security to our entrance door. The service from Safe and speed of delivery was also first class.

The Avocet ABS 3 Star locks are of excellent quality. They are more expensive than many of their competitors but I’m confident that our investment in them will be worth it. The thumbturn feature is very handy as is the same key option. This option allows us to have a secure home lock system with only one key.

Delighted with this lock. The previous one was difficult to insert the key and required key access from both sides. Both these problems were fixed with this lock. It was very straightforward to fit and looks great. Safe.Co.Uk were easy to order from and they delivered quickly. Will definitely use again.

I recently purchased the Avocet ABS 3 Star - Euro Thumbturn Cylinder to replace the lock on my front door. I was overall very pleased with the product, but I did have one issue with one of the bolts.

The short bolt that came with the cylinder installed easily, but when I tried to install the longer bolt, it wouldn't go through. I tried everything I could think of to get it to thread, but it was no use. I eventually had to take the bolt to a lathe operator to have it fixed.

I'm not sure if this was a one-off issue or if it's a common problem with this product. However, I would recommend that Avocet check the threading on the longer bolt before shipping it out.

Suggestion:

Avocet should check the threading on the longer bolt before shipping it out to prevent other customers from having the same issue I did.

Appears to be a very good lock, I'm not really placed to say how secure the lock is but the lock picking lawyer seemed suitably impressed.

Coming from two different locks, that both required keys on the inside, these are absolutely godsend, ability to lock (and more importantly unlock) without having to find keys is great.

Extremely easy to install and the keys that come with them can go in either way so fumbling about in the dark is better as well.

All in all, very very happy, should have done this years ago. Thanks
