Details
The ERA Wireless Alarm series are a range of smart home security alarms designed to give you ultimate control of your home security. The intuitive wireless system has been designed with DIY in mind ensuring no wiring or running cables in walls or under the carpet and you won't need the services of a qualified electrician.

The alarm components are easy to install on a DIY basis and have a wide 80 metre wireless range (in open field conditions) using a 433MHz frequency, ensuring you can place them practically anywhere.

The ERA miGuard AW1 Wireless Smart Alarm is a wireless smart alarm with integrated Wi-Fi connectivity. The alarm system can be operated via a Smartphone App and can also be armed or disarmed via one of the included remote controls. When the alarm is triggered, a loud 90db siren will sound from the control panel to alert others of an intruder and the system will also alert you via smartphone app alert. This alarm kit also includes a wireless solar powered external siren box which produces an 110db siren when the alarm is triggered.

In the box

PIR Motion Detector1 x Pet PIR Motion Detector
The pet friendly sensor activates when larger movement is detected making it ideal for homes with one small pet (less than 20 - 25kg). Each detector should be placed in the corner of rooms that are vulnerable to intruders. When the alarm is armed an infrared sensor will detect any larger movement and activate the loud alarm siren.

Door Sensor Contact1 x Door Sensor Contact
When the alarm is armed, if a door or window that is protected by the contact is opened the contact is broken activating the loud external siren. The maximum space between sensor and magnet is 10mm.

Outdoor Siren Box2 x Remote Keyfobs
The keyfob is used to arm or disarm the alarm system without the need for a PIN code and can be used from any room in your home. The keyfob also includes a panic button should you need to sound the alarm in an emergency.

Keypad Control Panel1 x MiGuard Smart Hub
The MiGuard Smart Hub is the heart of the alarm system and is Wi-Fi enabled. The hub connects to your home broadband via Wi-Fi and links each wireless device to your alarm system. There is an integrated 90db siren and battery back up in case of power failure.

Outdoor Siren Box1 x Outdoor Siren Box
The solar powered siren box includes a rechargeable battery and does not require a mains power supply. Fitted in a highly visible location on the exterior of the property the loud 110dB siren will sound and the LED will flash when the alarm is triggered.

Features

Alarm control by SmartPhone
You can access all of the alarm settings and features via the AW1 Alarm App (available for iOS and Android). The system can be activated and deactivated using your SmartPhone.*

Part arming by zone
The alarm can be set to create two different zones allowing you to arm one or both zones. This can be especially useful if you decide to split the upstairs and downstairs of a property into two zones. While away from the property you would activate both zones and during the night you could activate only the downstairs zone.

Solar powered
The alarm siren box includes a rechargeable battery which is charged by a solar panel. There alarm siren box is completely wireless meaning there are no wires or cables and you will not need to climb a ladder to change the battery. The standby time for the alarm is 45 days to ensure the alarm stays powered even when there is no sunlight at all.

* Requirements: This alarm system requires a broadband internet connection with Wi-Fi or one free wired network port. SmartPhone must be iOS 7.0 and above or Android 2.2 and above.

I bought this for my mother to secure her house. The key fob makes it easy for her to use. Also the smartphone app makes it so easy for me to monitor what's going on. So many features, even scheduling which I use to set the alarm in case she forgets. The panic button also links to my phone and gives another level of comfort. Will buy one for me once my contract is up. Only downside is the control box seems very light, but does the job well. Also setting up the sensors is a bit tricky, remember it takes 3 mins to get out of sleep mode if you have triggered it twice before alarming.

I have had a few problems since purchasing this system.

1) I am unable to use the app due to an incompatibility issue with my phone (moto g5). ERA's support have yet to resolve the issue, however I do feel like they are trying.

2) one of the extra door/window sensors I ordered didn't work out of the box. The support are meant to be sending me a replacement but the first got lost in the post and I'm am still waiting on the second.

3) i also had an issue with connecting to my router, however ERA suggested talking to my broadband supplier (Sky), who sent out their newesr router and that fixed the problem.

Once these teething issues are fixed, I'm sure the system will suit our requirements.

I found it easy to install this alarm apart from getting someone to climb a ladder to put the sounder on a wall out of reach of potential intruders who may wish to tamper with it. It is simple to add on extra sensors and they are really good value for money.

I would highly recommend this product as a viable alternative to a wired alarm which is much more costly and is not portable if you are planning to move home.

I also purchased a decoy sounder to put at the other side of the house and with it's flashing light it is a good deterrent in itself.

Excellent value for money. Installation was so easy, with only the PIRs needing anything more than sticky pads (and they would probably be fine except the design of the base wouldn't allow it). Download the App and do the installation of any additional sensors with that, it means you can stand by the sensor and cancel the alarm when you trigger it. This is particularly useful for the (very loud) external siren!

The only problem I had was one of the original door sensors failed within 24 hours. This was replaced by next day post, but I couldn't get it to connect to the base. The solution was to send an additional sensor (these are a different design) and use that. Worked fine.

My one criticism of Safe was their insistance that the manufacturer (ERA) would have to inform them that the failed sensor was in fact failed before they would replace it. ERA said don't bother and sent one themselves. Technical support from both companies was friendly and knowledgable.

Would I buy from them again? definitely.

Really good value with the price match discount. The screws given are a little short so I swapped them out for longer screws for some added security. The sensors provides include one narrow and one pet friendly sensor. I purchased an extra sensor and used the narrow one on the hallway. The parts are easy to connect together and set up. When you’re outside of the house sometimes it can take a while for the fob to connect but the app connects first time. Overall it’s an easy to use wireless device that sends notifications directly to my phone so I know the house is always safe

I think it’s a really good smart alarm. It was reasonably easy to install and set up. No false alarms so far. The pet safe sensors work great and our two dogs don’t set them off at all. The app works well and is easy to use on the go. The extras we bought along with it were able to be added to the system no problem. Would definitely recommend over the hassle of having to get a wired system installed. This went up easily and the small issue I had with an rfid tag not working was replaced within days.

It says the motion sensors are pet friendly - suitable for homes with a pet. Would it be suitable for a home with 2 pets (1 small dog & 1 cat)?
Ellis, Buckie
The PIR motion detectors would be suitable with a cat and a small dog. The alarm wouldn't be activated unless they detect movement of something bigger than 25kg.

Standard Alarm Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of wireless alarm kits, for the home or business.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree equipment positioning before commencing the installation of your Alarm Kit, including hub, all components (including selected components purchased from Safe.co.uk) and the wireless external siren.

Your installation will include positioning motion sensors in areas to provide the most suitable sensor coverage and locating the external siren in a highly visible location. Final positions will be governed by safe site access and the effect of the building on wireless range, including wall thickness, building materials and location of your Wi-Fi equipment.

You must ensure that adequate power is available for the alarm hub (one power socket) and that easy access is available to your broadband router as this will need to be connected to your alarm hub using an ethernet cable. If your router is not close to where you intend to position the alarm hub we advise purchasing a powerline adaptor prior to install.

The engineer will set up remote monitoring on one device and then carry out a final assessment to confirm that your new system is fully operational before providing a brief demonstration of your system and confirming it has been completed to your satisfaction.

  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

  • Accidental Damage
The Alarm system is knocked off alignment by high winds or moving objects such as ladders, footballs or people.
  • Malicious Damage
The Alarm system has been physically damaged by vandals or DIY.
  • Materials Failure
Previously Installed equipment (existing) or equipment included in the pre-purchased kit are deemed to be at fault. Faulty equipment such as the alarm hub, sensors, and power supply units are covered by the manufacturer warranty.
