ERA Dummy Alarm Siren Box

Very pleased with this Dummy alarm box. Great price and looks like the real thing.

Easy to put up and has the benefit of having the led flashing light . There are 2 x aa battery supplied and have a life span of around 18 months .

The only thing i found bad about the box was the tiny screw that secures the front cover to the main body, this i feel will soon rust and be difficult to unscrew when it is time to replace battery.

Not a major problem as the rest of the Alarm box is very well made so don't let this put you off buying one. I have put a small amount of tape over the screw which will protect it from the elements.

I gave this 5 stars in spite of the fact that the first one was faulty simply because the customer service at Safe UK was fantastic and the product, once we had it replaced with one that was working is really good quality.

I bought the ERA Dummy Alarm Siren Box as a lowcost way to whisper to passing thieves, ‘statistically, this property is a terrible career move,’ without actually wiring in a fully graded, Fort Knox MIL-SPEC alarm platform.

From street level it looks completely legit, bright, visible and convincing enough that I’m pretty sure even a cautious burglar would decide to try next door first.

Installation was blissfully simple: four screws, a spirit level, and a brief argument with the ladder. No wiring, no faff, no app that needs yet another login. Out of the box to “secured looking” in under 10 minutes, which is exactly what I wanted.

Build quality is good for a dummy unit, it’s not a tank, but once it’s on the wall it feels solid and weather worthy. Up close you can just about tell it’s not a £££ monitored system, but from any realistic approach distance it absolutely does the job. So in reality I’d call it a solid 4.5/5, but as there’s no half star button I’m happily rounding up to 5*. The deterrent effect is excellent, and a little extra heft in the casing would make it faultless.

Value for money is where it really shines. For the price of a takeaway, the front of my house now advertises “security system in place” 24/7. No subscriptions, no engineer visits, just set it and forget it. I’d happily recommend this to anyone who wants an instant visual upgrade to their home security without touching the electrics or their monthly budget.

Looks professional and is a good deterant especially at night with discrete flashing red warning light.

Well worth the money and is cheaper than Toolstation and Screwfix plus free delivery.
