A very good product that works very well But the chrome finish ( outside ) seems to have tarnished and bubbled.

I bought this with the zwave module so it works with SmartThings. It was worth noting that the device in Smarthings does not do much, smarthings cannot set pins, create users, set schedules etc. etc…it can only lock and unlock. You will need to use a custom device handler and custom smartapp which is provided by some great people in the smartthings community. Once you use these the lock works as expected, I personally think Yale should make this clear before buying it as some people may not be tech enough to use custom apps and devices. I personally don’t like how you have to press a button to open the door from the inside, for me this makes it a left handed job only and my 10yr old struggles with it. Apart from that, the lock is great, a bit too pricey but it does come with professional installation so you know it will be installed correctly which is nice.

We find these locks so useful having three children. No keys to lose or leave under the matt, simply use the keycode and enter. Also ideal to let neighbours or friends in when on holiday, you can give them a guest code that can be deleted after you return. Would not be without one

I'm extremely happy with the Yale key free lock. The lock was supplied by Safe and they arranged for a local locksmith to fit the assembly. He made the necessary arrangements with myself to fit the lock when we we're both available. The locksmith fitted a completely new door locking assembly and then fitted the Yale key free lock. The lock couldn't be easier to setup and use. We have programmed two keyfobs to the door lock which saves us having to key in the code numbers. We run the property as a short term rental property so the digital key free door lock is ideal for new guests arriving at odd hours, we just pass on a PIN number for the guests to gain access to the property. It has never let us down and everyone is happy with the lock.

My mum needed a door that could be opened remotely and by code as well as keys if needed. The package is Yale and so is insurance approved and most importantlyrics incudes installation so an expert took the door apart and added even more secure parts in addition to the lounge K to make it work. He then stayed and showed us how it all worked. it's a great product and a very professional service.

After scouring the web, I settled on Safe.co.uk as the product was competitively priced and available for immediate dispatch. The lock I ordered arrived on time and the installation service (included in the price) was superb. The item was securely packaged and we've been using it for a few months now without issue. I genuinely can't fault the build quality of the lock. It's used multiple times a day by children, parents and grandparents, and has so far been 100% reliable. Many people have commented on how well its made and I would definitely recommend ordering this product from this vendor to anyone.

» Ask Question

Can this be configured to be unlocked by generic, NFC capable equipment such as phones etc.
Tom, Wellingborough
Unfortunately The Yale Keyfree is not NFC compatable. However I would recommend looking at the Yale Conexis L1 Smart Lock while this is also not NFC compatable it does have Bluetooth conectivity.

Is the unit secured to the door at the top and bottom, or just at the screw placement on the existing handle?
Andy, Chatham
This unit is affixed at the top and bottom using either the existing screw placement holes or if needed new fixing holes which will be installed by the installation engineer.

Please can you tell me if this lock will lock itself if the occupants forget to lock it?
David, Chesterfield
Once the door is shut it would only latch the door in place, however as with all multi point locking systems you would have to lift the handle up to securely lock the door.

If the keyfob is stolen or lost, can it be de-activated so that it can't open the door at a later date? For example, in case bag is stolen with fob inside and details of address.
Catherine, London
If a Keyfob is lost or stolen you need to re-register a new keyfob and it will automatically forget the lost fob.

Once the door has been opened and you've closed it behind you, can anyone else get in or do you have to lock the door in some way from the inside?
Steve Teuber, POOLE
When the door is closed the lock will automatically lock on the latch to prevent anyone following you in. You can then lift the handle to fully engage the multipoint lock mechanism.
