Peace of mind that very few people are capable of getting through this lock is well worth the cost of upgrading, plus they can be keyed alike, and the thumbturn is very convenient. All locks should be made this robust really, standard locks are far too easy to snap or pick, and don't offer any serious security like the ABS Avocet does. It feels well made, fells solid and is a doddle to fit by even the most basic DIY enthusiast. I sleep well knowing my doors and home are safe, secure and protected by this good quality and very robustly made lock.

This (plus a matching key both sides cylinder) were used to replace one old cylinder (converting it to thumb turn on the inside - so much more convenient) and a second (outer door) cylinder that was only a year or so old but had started sticking, and could not be locked from outside. So far the new cylinders are good - quality is noticeably superior to the old ones, and the key matching service was very handy. Not cheap - but in this case I think the quality and additional security more than justifies the price. Ordering process was straightforward and they arrived as quoted.

An excellent lock security wise, well made and simple to fit, easy to use and a nice highly visible key that is easy to identify on a bunch of keys, the keys are coded so highly recommend this lock for insurance purposes and peace of mind.

Good fit, looks solid. I had to use my own existing shorter screws, otherwise it wouldn't lock, but I think that was because of my mortice locks.

It was easy to order a keyed alike set of 2 locks with different lengths, which I couldn't do on Avocet's website.

Ok, so this is a cylinder for changing the locks, as it were. I didn't know much about them until recently but now I realise how useful this is. My house has four doors and they are all eurocylinder sorts, which are very common on modern doors. Realising this, I now have all the doors using the same key which is really better because I can use a single key and use any door rather than having several.

The next thing I learned was that the difference is the length of the cylinder, measured from the centre to the ends as it has a fixing screw.

Changing them is trivial. Do it once and you'll know how from then on - easier than changing a plug fuse.

Security? Well, that's hard to say, really. Nobody has broken in so far and it seems I can't get local locksmiths to cut me a new key, which bodes well. There are features that you want, e.g. a breaking end so if someone twists the lock with a big lever it just breaks off rather than unlocking the door. A bunch of other things, e.g. anti pick, etc. Some of these have to be supported by the door, e.g. the pins and whatnot.

Not hugely cheap but not pricey either. I am well pleased, so far anyway.

Happy with the purchase, easy install as expected, smooth operations, having matching keys has made life much easier.

Coming from two different locks, that both required keys on the inside, these are absolutely godsend, ability to lock (and more importantly unlock) without having to find keys is great.

Extremely easy to install and the keys that come with them can go in either way so fumbling about in the dark is better as well.

it's pretty easy to fit the lock cylinder into the lock case and door. there are 11 pin for the key. The quality of the cylinder seems very good.

After I bought the euro double cylinder, it took several times for the payments to gone though. May be it's because of my card type and safe.co.uk has a higher security level, the validation of my payments always failed. but their customer service is very kind. they took the payment through the phone. then the cylinder was delivered to me the next week. It only took me 10 mins to fit the cylinder into my lock.

The Avocet ABS 3 Star locks are of excellent quality. They are more expensive than many of their competitors but I’m confident that our investment in them will be worth it. The thumbturn feature is very handy as is the same key option. This option allows us to have a secure home lock system with only one key.

Great lock but big advantage is you can get different sizes to match back, side and front doors to use the same key. Even got my elderly mums doors to use the same so no only need the one key.

It was very solid in design and was very easy to fit,it honestly took a couple of minutes and I now feel safe in and away from home in the knowledge that my new locks will help prevent my home being burgled. I highly recommend this lock.It is great value for money and is a very small price to pay for 5 star security . I have now changed all of my locks at home and I know that they can not be snapped fron the outside of my house so hopefully any intruders who come calling would see I have top quality locks fitted.

The Avocet locks are perfect for my needs, we have Keyed Alike and I had measured one the wrong way round, so sent the code to Safe and the right measurements and the lock and keys all the same as the previous arrived within a few days.

Having recently moved in to a new house I wanted to replace the ancient euro style lock in the garden room door to improve security of the property. After much online research I decided on the Avocet ABS 3 star. This is a really nice lock. Buld quality is very good and the security features are excellent. I purchased it from Safe website, delivery was extremely fast and the lock itself was fitted very easily in just a few minutes. With multiple locks it is worth getting the coloured fobs to distinguish between keys for doors. Locks all move smoothly and we feel more secure with the enhanced security features of these locks. Moved into a new house and the front and rear PVC doors had different mechanisms and keys for each. I wanted to only have 1 key for both doors so opted for a keyed alike set. Wnet for the Avocet ABS 3 Star as it's very secure and was offered in the odd sizes required to fit my doors.

We are currently in the process of having some new windows at the front of our house. When the installer arrived he noticed that we had a Rock Door on the side of our house but also noticed that the lock which we had was not one of the 3 star secure ones. We decided to investigate this and after some research found the ‘Safe Company’. We ordered the Avocet 3 Star ABS with a Dimple lock key since we felt that this one would meet our needs. It certainly did, the price, quality and delivery was excellent. We fitted it ourselves in about 30 minutes and it is performing very well. We had not used the Safe company before but we will do so in future on an ‘as need’ basis.

Very pleased with the product. We feel more secure. I like the horizontal key slot as something different and feels more special and quality as a result. Build-quality appears very good. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to fit but with the help of Youtube I found this very easy. Very pleased!

I recently purchased the Avocet ABS 3 Star - Euro Thumbturn Cylinder to replace the lock on my front door. I was overall very pleased with the product, but I did have one issue with one of the bolts.

The short bolt that came with the cylinder installed easily, but when I tried to install the longer bolt, it wouldn't go through. I tried everything I could think of to get it to thread, but it was no use. I eventually had to take the bolt to a lathe operator to have it fixed.

I'm not sure if this was a one-off issue or if it's a common problem with this product. However, I would recommend that Avocet check the threading on the longer bolt before shipping it out.

I looked at several different options of Euro lock but decided this ABS Avocet lock suited my needs the best. It is very well built, easy to use and was straightforward to fit. It provides good security to our entrance door. The service from Safe and speed of delivery was also first class.

Delighted with this lock. The previous one was difficult to insert the key and required key access from both sides. Both these problems were fixed with this lock. Very happy with these two keyed alike cylinders I bought for my patio doors; they replaced the original budget ones after a few attempted burglaries on my estate, where some of the neighbours' locks and door handles were snapped off (alarmingly easily). I'm encouraged by how weighty they are and the smooth finish made fitting them effortless. I would say the best feature about them (which is something I learned after buying a different brand for my front door) is that the ends of the keys are rounded, which makes inserting them very easy, unlike my front door key which has a flat end and often catches. I intend to buy these barrels again to replace all of the less secure locks for the external doors to my parents' house.

Easy to fit without the need for a locksmith. Having done some youtube research before buying I believe these 3 star locks are the most secure option available. Can order as many matching keys & barrels as you require, which enables you to use the same key fors different doors. I now only need the same key to open both my front & backdoor! =)

I have used these locks before and they were a non-negotiable choice for my new house when doors were replaced.

Recently moved house and wanted to replace all the locks. After quite a lot of research we settled on these as Safe.co.uk made it super simple to order keyed alike locks in exactly the combinations we wanted.

The locks themselves are very solid and feel high quality. The operation is smooth and they are very easy to use. The thumb turn is very use and wish we'd got it on a couple of other doors.

As for fitting its very simple. Some locks came with two different length screws which is very handy and saved reusing the old grotty and mangled screws from the existing locks. Only negative is it feels the locks come up slightly short, especially the thumb turn one. Despite measuring and measuring again a couple of the locks are only just flush or ever so slightly inset. If your measurements are only just 30/30 for example, it might be worth going 35/35 and coping with the slight protrusion.

Overall very happy with these locks.

Great set of locks got two locks keyed alike with thumb turns and fitted perfectly I would always recommend getting thumb turns for fire safety and the panic you have looking for door keys when you get a takeaway or delivery, and key alike just makes everything simple saves you snapping key by putting in wrong door which I did, the abs keys are great super thick no worries about them snapping. Locks are super secure will beat any brute force attacks and will beat anyone that's not a super prepared lock picker as no lock is completely pick proof but this comes very close to it

Wanted to update a euro lock for some time and this ticked the boxes. Build quality compared to the old one was night and day difference. Easy too follow measurements guide as my old one extended too far and wasn’t flush.

Fast delivery (next day) one screw to fit in matter of minutes. Used for 3 months now and very happy and likely to put any would be bad guy from even having a go just by seeing it.

Now to change all the other locks too this brand around the house. Makes Yale look basic.

Just moved into a new home with some keys missing and only a single key for some of the locks, so I decided to upgrade all around. I went with safe.co.uk so I could have a single key for 6 different locks and went with thumb-turn cylinders for fire safety.

Having a single key means that losing it can be expensive, especially if you think you might need to change the locks (you have to replace every lock rather than just one), but otherwise it's now considered fine from a security perspective. Equally thumb-turn locks aren't considered to be the most secure, but the fire safety benefit makes the overall benefit worth it. I went with the 3-star rated lock to counterbalance these concerns somewhat.

It wasn't the cheapest route to go down, but we're loving only requiring a single key, and not needing a key to lock up at night. No regrets.

I would thoroughly recommend the Avocet ABS 3 Star Euro Double Cylinder lock. So far it seems secure and durable, although I’ve not had to test this myself, and it was easy to install. Safe.co.uk made the order process clear and simple and there was a guide to ensure that I ordered the correct size. I chose this particular lock after doing a bit of research and I thought it offered good value and had been well reviewed. One of the features that was important to me, apart from security, was the ability to have multiple locks matched to the same key.

3 star security and its stamped on the outside edge of the lock which is visible when it’s in situ.

These locks give top class service year in year out.They come with a new fitting bolt and and are very easy to fit. Loads of online guides to doing this if needed. The interior thumb turn is very convenient and safer in the unlikely but possible event of a fire. I’ve only given four stars for security as keyed both sides locks probably take the edge for this. However, it’s difficult to tell it’s a thumb turn from the exterior of a frosted glass door. I would advise that additional keys are ordered with the lock as well known high street shops charge over double for them if you need them later. Safe were the best on price for both the locks and additional keys.I ordered keyed alike locks and they were delivered within two days.first class service all round,Andrew Perry

The Avocet Cylinder lock is beautifully engineered with obvious and significant security features for a very reasonable price. Very easy to install (make sure you order the correct dimensions) and then compare it with the average locks that are supplied with most Patio, Conservatory and other replacement doors. Very easy to fit, and seems solid. I don't have enough knowledge to say much about security, but the lockpicking lawyer over on Youtube says good things about these locks.

The 'turn alike' feature is fantastic; I've never had it before, and didn't realise I'd like it as much as I do. It doesn't sound like a big deal to have to carry fewer keys around, but never having to search for the right key at the door is great.

They did cost more than I'd ideally like to have paid - but they look as though they will last many years.

I bought six of these barrels keyed alike to replace a large bunch of keys. The quality is good and they are easy to fit, if a little expensive. One came faulty and had to be returned though Safe.Co were actually extremely helpful.

The sizing guide on the website was clearly laid out and easy to use. I bought a matched pair of locks for a property and they fitted in no problem thanks to the guide. Order was shipped and delivered much sooner than indicated on the website which was a bonus.

The information given on the website gave instructions on how to remove the current cylinder and how to correctly measure the replacement cylinder. The existing cylinder protruded at the outside of the door and was probably a security risk. The new cylinder fitted flush with the face of the door. It was easy to fit and it certainly appears to be a high quality product. I am sure that the security of the door is much improved and the price was very good.

Excellent product. Delivered quickly with extra keys. MUCH better security. Overall highly recommended. As this lock does not protrude from the outside door it cannot be snapped off. Also insurance companies prefer this type. Simply to fit with just a screw to remove but make sure you get the correct size to ensure a perfect fit.
