Very good value safe and cash-rated for £1000 (£10,000 for valuables)which was exactly what I needed for insurance purposes.

Flexible back and bottom fixings to suit most locations.

Very easy to change combination and 2 emergency opening keys if the combination is forgotten.

2 very strong locking pins which were larger in diameter than similar products on the market, which I assume gave it the cash rating.

Similar to those found in hotel bedrooms, and big enough to store all normal household valuables, documents, etc..

I did not require waterproof, or fire-rated storage, as this increases the price considerably.

The painted finish will protect the safe from corrosion, and should last for many years of use.

Only 2 emergency keys are supplied, so best stored safely away from the safe, and in separate locations, in case one is misplaced.

Relatives, or trusted neighbours are a good choice for one of the keys.

I was advised that replacement keys were not available.

Don't use the factory default code, as this will be the first tried by unauthorised attempts to open the safe.

Also try to avoid house, date of birth, and repeated numbers, as this reduces the security level for someone who has this information.

Details
The Safe Black Box 20E is an ideal compact home safe for securing valuables and offers great value for money. The safe door is operated by a digital combination keypad, with a user changeable 3-8 digit pin code and override back up key. The lock mechanism features an anti-bounce solenoid which prevents forced, unauthorised entry to the safe. The Safe Black Box 20E has a recommended insurance rating of £1,000 cash or £10,000 valuables. I purchased the above safe and on first inspection seemed to be a good product. I had a minor issue with the changing of the entry code but a quick phone call to Safe and all was resolved. Don't be put off by the small size of the safe as it holds quite a lot more than you think. I think for the price paid (not a lot) it is excellent value for money.I would have no hesitation in recommending this product.

Fabulous safe. As in lockdown now for a year and a half thinking of ways for improvements in the house, and I thought time I had a place to put insurance documents and papers in a safe place family can reach if anything untoward should happen during Pandemic. This was just the job. Held everything. Bank details, holiday plans, bank cards, Insurance Policies. This little safe was easy to install and is ideal for a few valuables in a bedroom. It won't stop a locksmith but value for money is outstanding and the quality is excellent for the money. Instructions are not great but you don't really need them once you have the hang of it.

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Additional Information

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

  • Accidental Damage
  • Malicious Damage
  • Materials or Manufacturer Failure
  • System Modification
  • Incorrect User Diagnosis
