Hello, the cylinder I have is a 35 x 35 x 70mm. It has 5 pins at lock end and 1 pin at thumb turn end. I need to know if I have to replace it with a cylinder having the same pins or can I use a cylinder with any amount of pins on my lock?

You will need to replace your cylinder with the correct profile and matching length but the security level, which is partly indicated by the amount of pins included, can be any. We recommend getting higher than 5 pins for an external door.

Your existing cylinder would have to be from the CISA Astral S 10 Pin Euro Cylinder Series. Each cylinder includes a code card allowing you to purchase additional keys or locks by simply providing the code to your existing lock.

As standard the CISA Astral S - Euro Thumbturn Cylinder 45 - 55 (100mm) is supplied Keyed to Differ which means the lock includes a set of keys that are unique and will only open this lock. If you require multiple locks you can choose to have them all Keyed Alike, meaning that each lock can be opened using the same key. You can view this cylinder keyed alike here.
