This lock is suitable for heavy duty solid doors. It would not be suitable for fitting to honeycomb-infilled doors. It requires a number of holes to be drilled, and these MUST be perpendicular to the door face. It will require an experienced DIYer to get this bit right. Instructions recommend drilling from opposite faces and getting holes to align - not a very practical method for an experienced person, let alone a DIYer. An alignment jig (providing a 90-degree reference to the door face) combined with a 2nd pair of eyes was very useful.

The MIFARE cards are expensive if ordered from Codelocks. I went online and was able to order these at a much lower cost and also in small quantities to suit our needs.

My lock had a minor part supplied with a wonky thread. Codelocks immediately sent a new part without any fuss at all. So, in short, would I buy again - YES for the product and YES for Codelocks support. Safe also provided a prompt delivery and good documentation throughout.

The Codelocks CL5510 Smart Lock, with key override, is an electronic smart door lock with a host of unique features combining traditional keypad, key card and smartphone compatibility. This heavy duty lock is ideal for use commercial use in busy environments such as a hospital or public place where frequent use is needed. The lock allows up to 100 smartphone users to operate the lock with the K3 Connect Bluetooth app.* The app provides an audit feature which allows you to see who's coming and going and can even control who has access for specific times.

The lock includes up to 350 users with the facility to set up 100 different user PIN codes, register 100 key cards and 100 smartphone users. The handle has an integrated key override which allows access in case of power failure. The lock is weatherproof and is suitable for both internal and external applications.

How long do the batteries last - how many entry/exits can we expect? We've had something similar to this in the past and we had to change the batteries every 2 days

Can I add and delete users as necessary on the app?

Does this lock require security pass on both sides? I have one door that links two separate parts of a building (that isn’t a fire escape). I would like people to have to enter a code / swipe card etc, when going in either direction.

The security pass is only for the external side, internally you can open the door with the handle at any time.

Is this lock unsuitable for a multi-point lock door, I've looked at the Yale but would like to compare / contrast against other offerings.

Unfortunately the Codelocks CL5510 heavy Duty Smart Lock is not suitable for multi-point lock doors. You would need to look at the Yale Conexis L1 Smart Lock - Chrome.

We need this for a church hall where hirers need a code but then leave the door open for their guests/classes. How does the code free access work on this? Does the administrator have to set it or can the latch be held back on the lock itself.?

Code free access can work in two ways, by either disabling the pin code or holding back the latch bolt.

Does the door have to be manually locked once you gain entry?
