Yale Y220B Weatherproof 51mm Steel Padlock

Seems solid. Good to have seemingly waterproof"cap" over where the key is entered, as using my padlock on a boat's " filler cap" after fuel syphoned off from tank. Black outer is sensible colour.

Unfortunately I am disappointed with the lock, and this was the 2nd one I have purchased due to the same problem. I purchased a Yale lock as they are usually a reliable brand, but after a few weeks of using it on my shed door, the key and lock would not open. It took a while to release the lock to gain access to my shed. I had to add a lubricant to it, and not sure how long it will last, so when I purchase another lock, it will not be a Yale.

Not suitable, lock body to big/chunky for the protective lock surround fitted to my shed so it was difficult to use, my fault choosing this design.

Great product for use as basic security in an external environment exposed to the elements.

Used on my garage door,lasted about 2 months before it seized up,tried lubing it up,but still very stiff and almost impossible to use,threw it tothe side and bought a different one,very disappointed in it

Purchased this to replace a "non-weatherproof" padlock which had seized after being used outdoors for 6 months on my garden shed.

In terms of build quality, after 3 months the Yale is holding up pretty well, one of the rubber grommets has dropped off but hasn't impacted the smoothness of the action, yet. I'm hopeful the plastic cover over the barrel will work well and should keep the action smooth. The lock feels sufficiently chunky but lacks any protection from bolt cutters (although any thief with half a brain cell would take a crowbar to the wooden slats...)

The lock came with three sets of keys.

I would not advise buying this padlock, I originally bought 3 of these keyed alike & on first use one would not lock. After 3 months use on a shed a second one stopped locking. The locking retainer inside the body of the lock appears to be stuck in and will not grip the shackle so the lock is permanently open. I expected a product carrying the Yale name to be of a much higher quality than some cheap unbranded lock.

I had been looking for a good waterproof padlock .. saw yours and the reviews were good so decided on that particular 1. And am more than pleased
