The Magno 540E is a soundly built safe with a simple and effective operating method which is easy to open and close. Whilst there was only one rear fixing point when I had expected two or maybe even four, the aperture for the bolt was considerably wider than that on my previous unit and this made it much easier to install a high-tensile bolt and tighten it properly with the socket wrench using an M12 nut. Other similar units have such small round access points for the bolts that most sockets can get stuck in the hole as there is no clearance if the anchor is not 100% central to the hole. Another noticeable benefit is that there is no annoying 'tone' when entering numbers into the keypad and that also there is no continual bleeping while the door is open - both issues I did not appreciate on a previous safe which had failed. The door is internally hinged and when closed there is an anti-pry rebate that covers the hinge side of the door, with three-way bolts locking to the other three sides. This makes for a sound closure and feels purposeful. If there was one element that could be improved it would be to add a second shelf as there is space to accommodate one if you are using it for small items rather than files and the side walls have multiple positions to adjust the single shelf you do receive. All in all a well-made solid unit that made the purchase price more acceptable over some similarly priced safes from better-known manufacturers whose products did not compete on build quality. Hopefully it will prove reliable as there is no over ride on the locking mechanism so if it fails it will be a locksmith visit or dynamite to open it.

Burg-Wächter offers an extensive product portfolio for physical security hardware with an emphasis on quality German engineering. A trusted brand throughout the world, Burg-Wächter are always the safe choice.

ECB-S Grade 0 and Relocking

The Magno safe is independently tested by ECB-S to grade 0 which provides you with £6,000 cash insurance rating and £60,000 of valuables. It also benefits from emergency re-lockers which engage if there is an attempted break-in by locking all bolts preventing any access being gained.

25mm 3-Way Locking Bolts

The Magno boasts a 3 way locking bolt setup, this means that all 3 opening edges of the safe are secured into the body increasing its security and providing peace of mind your valuables are safe. The 25mm hardened steel locking bolts give excellent strength and they also spin to prevent access when being during an attack.

Internal Hinges and Anti Drill Protection

Unlike other safes on the market Burg-Wächter use internal hinges which stop the exposed area being attacked, it also allows a recess in the door behind the main body providing an additional locking area unlike other competitors. Tough manganese anti drill plates also offer additional security in areas that are needed.

Great safe, lots of internal space and very solid construction. Having looked around the market this safe seemed to represent very good value for it's cash rating. However the control panel could be more robust and feels a bit flimsy and I think the manufacturers could try and improve this.

Delivery driver was very helpful.

Big heavy block of metal which should deter any thieves. However the rotational lever to open the safe is made of flimsy plastic and the mechanism is stiff so I think this will fail soon. Perhaps this part is sacrificial in the case of unauthorised access? If so then it should say so in the instruction manual.

Standard Safe >25kg Installation

An installation service is available on a wide range of safes over 25kg. If offered, this option will be listed within the Delivery & Returns section on the product page.

On arrival an experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your Intallation will include bolting the safe to the floor using anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are deisgned for use with a solid surface such as stone or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards.

If a wall installation is required, please speak to one of our safe experts and they will guide you through this specialised service.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.

  • AB
  • DD
  • TD
  • DG

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.
