I bought the Union 1332 to replace the existing one, which had been on the front door for over 30 years. I decided to buy the brass lock because it looked smarter than the original grey night latch. I found no problem with the fitting because I copied the length of the cylinder fixing screws and the connecting bar. The ease of use is better than before and security is good for front door with stained glass windows. The night latch was expensive but very good value for money.

  • Lock is 60mm backset from forend.
  • Also available with a 50mm Backset.
  • The latchbolt is withdrawn by the pull handle from the inside and by the key from the outside.
  • The deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by the key from inside or outside.
  • The deadbolt is double thrown by an extra turn of the key extending the bolt projection to 20mm providing additional security.
  • The latchbolt can be held in the withdrawn position by turning the pull handle anti-clickwise providing the deadbolt is withdrawn.
  • Ideal for glass panel doors.

Very solid and reliable. Used it to replace an identical lock which had been in use for 50 years so not expecting to ever have to change it again! Glad to find I could get exactly the same lock as before so no cutting or filling needed and the whole thing was done in 10 mins.
