very good product, the next time I have to change a lock, this model will be the first on the list, the price was very reasonable for the quality and it seems to be very strong in the build, a lovely smooth action is a plus, unlike some other well known locks, that can seem very crusty ( for want of a better word ) also the instructions that came with it were very precise, which is ideal for me who has only just found that these funny foreign measurements are not too bad if you ignore all that you have been brought up with.

Build quality not as good as the old Chubbs, This was the second Union lock change as the first started (not from Safe Shop) to jam and took some fiddling to get the key to work. The overall finish could be better, a plated finish say zinc instead of paint would be better and longer lasting, especially as this designed for exterior doors. The Safe Shop provided lock is working well. Information re the lock was readily available e.g. back set measurement and therefore making sure obtaining the correct fitting was easy.

For security I couldn’t get better for the price. Easy to fit.

unfortunately size have changed over the past 30 years all dimension on the union j2200 where bigger, had a lot off alteration to do luckily I tools and know how. It dose what it suppose to do.

J2200 StrongBOLT good value replacement and comes with all required fittings including quality screws unlike some other providers that save on screws which are only a step away from plastic.
