GE Portable KeySafe

As we are not allowed to drill into the exterior walls of the property this was the best option for us. The padlock design allowed us to attach this securely to allow carers to access the property. It blended in well and wasn't visible from a distance ( against a black background). I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep keys safe and accessible. Excellent product.

Sorry but whilst the item is very convenient because you can clip it on to railings and I gave sturdy metal handrail outside my door, it is very fidly and difficult to use. Guests dont like it when they are not sure if they are going to be able to open it. I would say it is fine if you want it for your own, occasional use. But if you are relying on it as a method for guests to access a key then it is hard to get out and even harder to get back in, until you have mastered the knack of it.

Easy to use and it's portability is a great advantage.... no need to fix to the wall

I bought this product because we needed an external key safe but, because of the nature of the building, we could not have a safe permanently fixed to the wall. The portable key safe provides an ideal solution - it is chained to the railings outside the front door of the multi-occupancy building and enables carers to access my brother who needs care regularly during each day.

The rubber cover protects the safe from the weather very effectively. The code system is not high security in that the numbers can be keyed in in any order and I suspect that anyone who wanted to could work the code out. But in this case, that doesn't represent too much of a problem. The various carers using the safe seem to have no difficulty in operating it, both to gain access to the keys and to replace them at the end of their visits.

A good idea & well executed. I wanted more than a 4-digit code and didn't want a key box on my wall.
