Very happy with the product overall. However there are contradictions in the fitting instructions as the instructions for the digital latch and the instructions for the PBS1 lock body both give differing views on what length to cut the bar. It was a case of trial and error to find which option to choose as didn’t want to cut it too short. I also purchased a Yale module which fits nicely inside the lock to enable the lock to be operated remotely. However, finding a corresponding App which worked was hard work. After a lot of hard work downloading many Yale Apps I found that it works best using the Samsung SmartThings App - but for the module to work you need to buy an additional Samsung Hub - at a cost of around £80 - so not exactly cheap.

Once fully set-up it is worth the effort but the overall fitting and digital App/control instructions are contradicting and somewhat lacking on Yale’s part.

The Yale Keyless Connected Smart Lock + Brass PBS1 Night Latch lets you update your home security with a smart lock for keyless entry and locking. The Keyless Smart Lock is operated by a touch sensitive keypad, with customisable PIN, and can also be operated using the supplied key tag or card. The front keypad connects to the PBS1 Night Latch to complete a full smart security lock kit for your door.

With an emergency latch on the inside, and a back-lit key pad, Yale's Keyless Smart Lock is easy to use and safe. And if the batteries ever run out, you can easily attach a 9v battery via an emergency slot to get your smart lock working right away.

Other Keyless models are available with Yale Module or with Z-Wave Module.

Can you please tell me if the PBS1 keyless connected night latch kit suitable for outdoor use on a garden side gate.

This is not suitable for out door use as the keyless digital lock has an external battery compartment which is not weather proof however I can recommend the Codelocks CL4510 Smart Lock (Stainless Steel) should you wish to consider this.
