The ASSA ABLOY 8812 Codehandle - Left Hand, is an electronic digital door lock that is designed for internal applications. The keypad is incorporated on the handle and allows up to 9 user codes that are 4-6 digits in length. The lock is powered by 2x CR2, 3V Lithium batteries and a low battery warning will let you know when to change the batteries. This handle is designed to be fitted to the left hand side of the door.

Does the handle self lock after failed entry tries?
Can the handle be used normally without needing the code?

If a wrong code is entered five times the
handle is locked-out for 3 minutes and the
light will flash red every five seconds. To pass
the lock-out, enter the correct code twice
and then once more to gain access. It is possible to set a passage mode on the handle which will allow code free access.

Is this secure enough for a front door?

This lock would not be suitable on a final exit door, they are not tested for weather resistance or external use. You may wish to consider the Yale Y3 Keyless Connected Night Latch Kit if operating a night latch.
